About Me

Hello!
Welcome to my little corner of the Internet. So, who am I? Good question. The simplest answer is, I don’t know yet. But that’s absolutely no fun, so here are a few interesting factoids about me…
- I’m a student working on my M.A. in English (with an emphasis on rhetoric and language - my thesis will be about propaganda and persuasive speech).
- I live in Alaska and consider it an amazing privilege to be surrounded to my left by mountains and to my right by the ocean. I’m pretty spoiled to live in a place where I can get to excellent hiking in less than 5 minutes, see occasional wildlife in my backyard (saw a moose just yesterday, in fact), and then still visit the opera from time to time.
- You may have noticed that I call myself an “almost vegan,” which to many of you may be an entirely paradoxical label. In my case the almost vegan refers to the fact that I consciously eat vegan at home, but when I leave the home to visit friends for dinner or go to an non-vegan friendly restaurant, I’m more of a strict vegetarian. I usually tell people I’m a strict vegetarian, out of courtesy for strict vegans, but because I make a concerted effort to eat vegan (and because most of my family and friends know I prefer the vegan lifestyle), an “almost vegan” just seemed a more appropriate nomenclature for me.
- Much like the Brain, I’m a big fan of taking over the world, one blog post at a time….
- Anything else you need to know? Just drop me an email.

I'm a student in Alaska who likes the cold weather and snow. Favorite free-time activities include reading, traveling, cooking, and contemplating world domination. (Oops! How'd that get in there...)
